What integrations exist on day one?+
QuickBooks Online — we read your client list directly so you don't retype it. Gmail and Outlook — we send on your behalf but never read your inbox. And a secure upload link so your clients can drop documents straight in. Don't use QBO? Upload a CSV instead. Plaid, Square, Stripe, Lacerte, and other tools are on the roadmap — we'd rather ship one connection that works flawlessly than five that frustrate you.
Does the AI actually email my clients itself?+
Yes — through your connected Gmail or Outlook account, with permission to send only. You sign in once during setup (no DNS records to configure, no email server changes), and chase emails go out from your real address. Replies land in your inbox like always — we never read them, we just nudge you when one comes in. For your first cycle every draft waits for your sign-off; once you trust the templates, you can flip auto-send on.
What if a client doesn't respond?+
Email reminders fire on a cadence you control: a default of day 0, day 3, day 6, and a final escalation flag at day 9. Anything still outstanding by your close deadline rolls onto your reviewer queue as a blocker — never lost, never silently dropped. (Today: email cadence + reviewer escalation are live. SMS at day 6 ships with our next phone-channel release.)
Can I edit what the AI sends?+
Yes. Every template is editable per-firm; every individual draft can be reviewed in the workspace before send. Today, every message waits for your sign-off — most firms tell us they want to flip the switch to auto-send within two cycles, which is exactly what we're building next.
Who can see my client data?+
Your firm's data is fully isolated from every other firm on the platform — there's no shared workspace, no cross-firm visibility. We never read your mailbox, since we only have permission to send. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. SOC 2 Type I is in progress. HIPAA is out of scope — we don't process protected health information.
I'm a solo CPA. Will this be too heavy for me?+
No. CloseDesk has a solo mode that collapses the reviewer/operator distinction — you see one queue, one workspace, no team-management overhead. The product was designed with solo practitioners in mind from day one. If you're running a firm of one and chasing 20+ clients every month, you're the target user.
What will it cost when slots open?+
We're still working out pricing with our earliest firms. When your slot opens we'll share what we're proposing for your size and shape — and you'll have a chance to opt out if it doesn't work. The general direction: simple, predictable billing for solo and small firms; tailored arrangements for larger or specialized practices. We'll never surprise you with charges.
What if I want to cancel?+
Self-serve, from your billing page, takes about ten seconds. We export your full data archive (clients, threads, documents, audit trail) on the way out. No data hostage-taking.
